Evenbead and QuickBooks, side by side

QuickBooks Online prices by feature set and by how many people sign in. Evenbead charges one price per company, with unlimited users. A five-person team needs QuickBooks Online Plus at $140 a month; Evenbead Business is $49, about a third of that.1 Moving is free on annual plans and checked to the cent (migrations are in pilot). Here are the numbers, and where we're not there yet.

Evenbead is pre-launch. Our prices are proposed and nothing is for sale yet. Rows marked "Coming" aren't built; QuickBooks has them today.

Price and users

List prices and who can sign in

QuickBooks Online yearly figures are 12 times the monthly list price, before promotions.1 QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is sold per user per year; the figure shown is for one user.2 Evenbead yearly prices are the annual plans (two months free).

Example: a team of 10

QuickBooks Online Plus includes 5 users, so a 10-person team needs Advanced at $340 a month.1 On Evenbead, the same team fits on any plan; Business is $49 a month. QuickBooks Online includes 2 accountant seats (3 on Advanced); Evenbead has no limit.

Key features

Where each feature sits

Our rule: a feature lands one tier lower than on QuickBooks Online, unless it carries a real per-company cost (bank feeds, payroll, payments, bill pay, e-filing). The status column says whether it's in our software today.

Switching

What switching looks like

The risky part of leaving QuickBooks is not knowing whether the numbers survived. So the move ends with proof.

  1. Free migration

On any annual plan or firm-billed file, we bring your books across at no charge: from QuickBooks Desktop through a free export tool on your own machine, or from QuickBooks Online through its API and report exports.

  2. Tie-out to the cent

The trial balance is compared for every period. If any account is off by a cent, the migration is marked failed and the report lists the differences. QuickBooks Online imports also list anything it doesn't let you export.

  3. Keep your accountant

Your accountant signs in free, with as many people as their firm needs, and can supervise several clients from one console. Trial-balance exports go to their tax software.

  4. Run in parallel, then switch

Keep QuickBooks for a month alongside Evenbead and switch when the month closes the same in both. Old history comes across as a read-only record.

Status: the Desktop connector, the Online importer and the tie-out report are built and tested on synthetic company files only. They haven't run on a real QuickBooks file yet; that happens with pilot firms first. Mapped exports for Lacerte, UltraTax CS and Drake are coming (a generic trial-balance CSV works today).
